Born in Denmark in 1986, Astrid began singing and playing a variety of
instruments from the age of 15, highly influenced by jazz and world music.
The globetrotting Engberg takes much of her inspiration from her travels. She
has lived most notably in China, the United States, Canada and Africa.
After her involvement in a number of collaborations in Denmark, she became a
member of the Swiss/Canadian group “Berry Weight”, performing with them at the Olympia in 2008 as Wax Tailor’s support act. She has also collaborated with Mattic and La Fine Equipe, with whom she
still works today.
